The 2024 presidential election is fast approaching, and many are speculating whether Kamala Harris, the current Vice President, will run against Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination. While it is still early to make a definitive prediction, there are some factors that could influence Harris’s decision to run or not to run.

The Biden-Harris relationship

First and foremost, the relationship between Biden and Harris will likely play a significant role in Harris’s decision. Since taking office in January 2021, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have formed a close working relationship that has been described as both collaborative and supportive. The relationship between the two leaders is an important aspect of the current administration, as Vice President Harris has taken on an active and visible role in shaping policy and representing the administration on both domestic and international fronts.

One possible caveat would be that Biden has previously stated that he views himself as a transitional president and that he would like to see the next generation of leaders take over after his tenure.

“Biden says he’s a ‘bridge’ to new ‘generation of leaders’ while campaigning with Harris, Booker, Whitmer…”
