President Joe Biden will turn 82 years old in 2024, which would make him the oldest president in U.S. history if he were to run for re-election and win. Many news articles has expressed concerns about his capabilities to serve for another presidential term.

CNN reports:

“Biden was running to become one of the youngest people ever elected to the United States Senate. Now, the president is already the oldest person ever to serve in the office of the presidency, and, if reelected, would leave office at the age of 86. That would best the next oldest president by more than 9 years if he served a full second term.”

Age can be a factor in determining a candidate’s physical and mental fitness for the job, and it may be a consideration for voters when evaluating candidates. It can impact perceptions of a candidate’s fitness for office, experience, and ability to connect with different age groups.
